New Way to Enhance Memory January 10, 2010
Our memories are some of the most important things we own. Many people can remember clearly events that happened 15 years ago, but find themselves searching to remember what they need to get from the shop. It doesn’t take long however to amend this problem.
Your brain is in charge of decoding new information, or experiences that you are exposed to, to translate the information that has been sent to you. The brain will then decide how to make sense of this information. Your brain will file away this information, if you are making a concerted effort to concentrate on this element of things.
You are helping your mind to act like a file cabinet, filing the information away inside. You will be able to instruct your brain to take the information back out when you need it, very much like you open your file cabinet at home and retrieve a selected file.
You may find your mind wanders or you are always busy taking care of multiple things at once. You need to train yourself to pay close attention to what is happening around you and therefore allow your brain time to store it for whenever you need it. It helps to connect new information with something you already remember.
There are a number of methods to use for learning, you just need to look until you find the one that is suited to you. There are those who react better to visual aids, seeing or picturing something makes it easier to remember.
Analyzing a piece of information that you are trying to remember, repeatedly in your mind, is an excellent method for improving short term memory. Repetition will help to etch the information in your brain, allowing you to later remember it.
Along with visual assistance, some individuals experience an improvement in short term memory with the use of word association. It’s important to explore the various option available, and wisely utilize the tools that will help you to improve your short term memory.
