Improving Memory Skills Is Possible – Here’s How March 27, 2010
With so much information ramming into out brains each day, we could all stand to find a few ways of improving memory skills. If we could remember more, we might not feel as stressed as we go through life, because all that you really need to know would be stored right inside of your head. Here are some methods to try…
First, you could try turning your memorization into a game. Tease your brain a little bit and try to remember as many digits in the number pi as you can. You know pi, right? That’s the never ending number that starts out with 3.14. Try to remember as much of the never ending number as you can. Then try to remember even more the next day. This will stimulate the regions of your brain that are responsible for memory, which will help strengthen it.
Next, you could try some visualization. When you learn a new piece of information, try to connect an image to it. If you are trying to remember someone’s name, picture their name on their forehead. Doing this will create several connections in your brain for that memory instead of just one. That means that you will be much more likely to remember it.
A third method of improving memory skills would be to have the right diet. A new study was recently released that shows that wild blueberry juice has a positive effect on the memory skills of aging adults. So, swap out that boring orange juice for a glass a blueberry juice and enjoy the benefits.
A study was revealed at the 2009 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference that linked strenuous activity to a decrease of memory in women. It showed that years of hard exercise like running and swimming may cause a decrease in memory as opposed to women who perform moderate exercise like walking or jogging. So be careful about the amount of activity that you do – never do more than your body can handle. Follow these tips and you will soon be improving memory skills too.
