Quit Snoring Already – Sleep Apnea Remedies for More Brain Power March 10, 2010

After reading a brief from the NY Time’s blog on brain power, here’s my response to the whole thing. Just sleep some more then and see your doctor. Okay actually before any one jumps on me, I’m kidding. But seriously do see a doctor if you’re suffering from memory loss as there may be other issues involved besides a poor diet.

The blogger goes on to discuss how researchers from the University of California discovered that sleep apnea may be caused by a lack of brain tissue or decreasing brain tissue. Does your spouse snore really loud? Then this is a form of sleep apnea. Basically the body doesn’t get the oxygen required and it can cause all day fatigue.

Also these same brain parts that were smaller share similar traits to people with Alzheimer’s or alcoholism. Both directly are attributed to loss of memory. As of right now there is nothing that is a definitive ‘cure’ or solution to the problem. There are some preventative measures one can do for sleep apnea remedies, however include things such as the following.

Quit smoking or other forms of tobacco. Other than the obvious lung cancer risks, tobacco has been found to increase sleep apnea and/or snoring. Do note that just because someone may suffer from snoring doesn’t necessarily mean that they (or you) have sleep apnea. It is a symptom of it though. Consult a doctor though. Sleep on your side and get your body into regular sleeping patterns.

Do memory improvement supplements actually work?
