Tips To Improve Your Concentration In Less Than One Week
If you are sick of losing focus at work or school, you may need to improve your concentration. With declining attention spans, even intelligent people like you and I can be influenced by others around us that can not concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes. We all know that bad habits rub off, so use these tips to start focusing better in under a week.
1. Stimulate Your Mind Each Day
There’s a reason why newspapers include crossword puzzles in their daily editions. Because stimulating your mind through puzzles and brain teasers is a great way to create new connections in your brain. A brain that is always building upon itself will have better concentration skills. Try to work on at least one cross word puzzle or word search each day.
2. Stay Away From Too Many Stimuli
Modern Psychology has taught us that our brains can really only focus on one thing at a time. This is called selective attention and there’s really no way around it. You can not listen to more than one person speaking at once and retain much information. In fact, if you try to take in too many stimuli over course of one day, you can (in a very real snse) tire your brain out. So, if you are working on a stressful project or you are feeling over stimulated, you won’t be able to improve your concentration. Try to avoid these situations when you can.
3. Eat Right
Your diet is a huge factor in your concentration levels. Try to eat plenty of protein to keep your brain happy and healthy. You can find good proteins in peanuts and red meat. You could also try to add Omega-3 fatty acids to your diet. These nutrients will lubricate your mind and get you ready to focus.
If you want to improve your concentration, try sticking to these tips for one week and I’m sure that you will notice the difference.
